Hamish & Jenny at Haute Cabriere, Franschhoek

16th May 2009

Jenny and Hamish got married on one of the STORMIEST days in Cape Town! It was also my last wedding for the South African wedding season!  It poured so much  that Jenny had to get ready at Haute Cabriere, as even getting from the car to the ceremony would have left her soaked.   The light though,  was incredible – with thick, dark and dramatic clouds and bursts of sunlight.  We managed 20 minutes of shooting outside before the heavens opened again, but what a fantastic wedding!  Hamish and a few of the guys wore traditional kilts which looked really cool and fitted in really well with the Scottish-type weather.  I have to mention the favours on the tables – the best, and I mean without a doubt, the BEST shortbread biscuits I have ever eaten!!!

Karen & Rudi at Oakfield Farm, Johannesburg

Friday, May 1st, 2009

I met Karen last year May in the UK when I was over there shooting weddings for the London summer.  She’d been onto my website, then dropped me an email.   I said I was in London and could meet to chat about her Jo’burg wedding.  We met in Putney at a little coffee shop and talked for ages about her wedding.  When I saw Karen again a year later at Oakfield Farm, it was like I’d seen her recently, and the time had just flown by.   The weather was incredible, the ceremony beautiful and Karen and Rudi just laughed their way through the day.
