Michelle and Edward got married at a little church near Kirstenbosch gardens, and had their afternoon reception at KwaLapa at Montebello Design Centre . KwaLapa ( ‘telling the stories of food)’ is an organic restaurant/ deli tucked away in Newlands Avenue, just around the corner from Kirstenbosch Gardens. It is a real gem of a place – the type of place you want to keep secret, but at the same time, tell the world about! What I found so special about KwaLapa, is that it’s in a bedouin tent, and In the middle of it is a massive ficus tree – so the restaurant is actually built around the tree!. Surrounding KwaLapa there is a close knit community of people who make jewellery, wooden hand carvings, stunning African paintings…and then tucked away at the back is a little nursery jam-packed with quaint little finds for a garden. Some of Michelle and Ed’s guests flew in from the UK and enjoyed the sunshine in one of the most beautiful areas in Cape Town.
